Nottinghamshire Police Veterans FC are celebrating promotion after winning the league.
They secured the East Midlands Championship East in style with a thumping 6-1 win over Local Inn, of Mansfield, on Sunday (6 May).
The team are now awaiting confirmation from the League on when they will be presented with the trophy.
It means next season they will play the likes of Basford United in the East Midlands Veterans League Premiership.
The Championship win comes after the team also reached the National Police Final against Police Scotland in May last year.
Player/manager Phil Cumberpatch praised the team spirit and dedication that saw them win the league with a game to spare.
He said: “They are all decent players and we’ve managed to pull together and create a squad that plays at a decent standard but it’s more about the camaraderie than anything else.
“With the increased demands on officers and lack of time outside work I’m chuffed to bits with the commitment and the way we’ve pulled together.”
Nottinghamshire Police Veterans FC is a team for officers, staff and those with a connection to policing, who are over the age of 35. They play and train in their own time.
